As part of Care Afrique Organization’s (CAO) minor goals, is to secure necessary funds / supports / commitments, for CAO Forestation Project in Ghana, West Africa, and Africa.  Factoring in, future growth, consumption, and environmental needs of wildlife as well. Environmental!!! Honestly, not much need be said about global environmental need.

Africa, West Africa and Ghana are no exceptions. The Sahara desert keeps on with desertification as the days, weeks, months, and years go by.  CAO, advocates forestation to regain lost arable land is the only sustainable, lasting solution for desertification. Sustainable Environmental Solution!!!

Environmentally, we sincerely do fear that if we don’t tackle this now we might be unable to curtail this growing trend. Desertification; already has a head start.

Advantages / Benefits of the Forestation Project:

  • Reclaim Lost Arable Land:

Plant more trees, grow more vegetation, reduce indiscriminate logging, lobby legislators to incorporate natural vegetation laws, standards, policies in our quest for development, etc… are some of the measures that will be embarked upon in our forestation quest.

Environmental degradation cannot be taken lightly at all. “The last tree dies; the last man dies”. This is so true to the word that it actually scares us, and all who care for the environment.

Now that’s donor money being used much more sustain ably, positively, & environmentally. Humans need Nature; Nature doesn’t need Humans. Or does it?

  • Environmental Factors:

We all suffer from poor environmental conditions. The world is our only home for now at least, and there is no such thing as environmental change in one place without comparative change across continents \ globe \ world as we now know from experts.

A tough stance on environmental improvement needs to be taken worldwide, as is slowly being done, and in Africa, forestation definitely is one of the most sustainable solutions. There is no middle ground or negotiation with time.

  • Educational Factors:

They say when you educate a woman, you educate an entire village. Now, we need to educate ourselves, and children about the importance of our environment, trees, clean air, to their livelihoods.

An educated indigenous, just raises standards for all of us in this part of the world at least. PLANT MORE TREES!

  • Health Factors:

Our health has a lot to do with our environment. The healthier our environment, the healthier we are and not vise-versa.  We need to advice ourselves of our health habits, lifestyles, as in relation to our environment as well.

  • Empowerment Reasons:

Truly as part of our empowerment efforts, we cannot simply claim to bring about empowerment to African people, when we simply train indigenous to take up the challenge, and make our environment healthy.

To us; all our goals are geared towards empowering all. Certainly positive, sustainable, environmental change is assuredly more empowering.

  • Increase Productivity:

Healthy Environment = Healthy Indigenous people.

Healthy Indigenous people = Increase productivity.

  • Foster Growth & Development:

CAO, simply believes that once more indigenous people gain the awareness, environmental growth and development will be incorporated into all facets of our lives. Which will intern, foster growth & development.

  • Create Opportunity:

Not much need be said here. The knowledge & training being given is an opportunity in itself. The opportunity the indigenous will make of it will be an added value benefit as well for them. Forestation can be an opportunity for many also and a plus for all.

  • Create Employment:

As CAO major goals get built, start operation, and maintained, all this equals employment. As the community and economy grows, more jobs will be created. As productivity increases, more employees will be needed.

As labor is more specific, skilled, and affordable, entrepreneurs will spring up and also amongst our newly trained indigenous. All CAO solutions lead to more jobs, even in forestation.

  • Deliver Future Hope:

Hope for the future will be reborn. Just like the sun rising once again.

Who Will It Benefit?

Directly, it will benefit all 28million people in Ghana, several millions more in West Africa & Africa; indirectly the entire Africa, and world in many measurable and immeasurable ways indeed. Environmental solutions, as we have now come to understand from experts; do not have borders and needs to be sustainable. We hope to plant at least 1000+ trees annually.

Estimated Cost:

We at CAO roughly estimate it to cost about a $100million or even much less.  Forestation on a large scale over 25yrs+ is vital, to at least catch up with the environment, take back control of lost arable land, curtail the degradation, and actually gain more land.
